Dubai Company Formation
The Dubai International Financial Centre is a special economic zone designed specifically as a home for the financial services industry in the GCC region. It is already a major global financial centre, acting as a hub between Asia, Africa, and Europe. Currently, the DIFC community consists of over 1,500 active registered companies, including some of the world’s largest financial services firms.
The DIFC allows the incorporation of a range of different company types, including companies limited by shares, limited liability companies, general partnerships, limited liability partnerships, limited partnerships, and special purpose companies (SPCs). Of these, the SPC is particularly interesting as a vehicle for any kind of financial structuring, boasting incredible flexibility that makes it appropriate for ring fencing assets, managing financial transactions, or even setting up family offices.
The benefits of establishing an entity within the DIFC are as follows:
- Ability to have 100% foreign ownership (compared to ‘onshore’ Dubai companies, which have local ownership restrictions).
- Zero tax rates on income and profits for a period of 50 years from the date of inception.
- An international legal system based on Common Law of England and Wales.
- A variety of corporate vehicles can be established.
- A well-regulated, compliant, and transparent environment which complies with international best practices and processes.
- An international stock exchange located in DIFC (Nasdaq Dubai) with primary and secondary listings of debt and equity investments.
Our Dubai office, Boston Corporate Services (DIFC) Limited, is established in the DIFC and is one of only a handful of providers able to incorporate all of the corporate entities available in the jurisdiction, notably including the SPC. Our specialist team is available to provide local advice and support, as well as to ensure any structures fit into a global structuring plan, using our international network of offices in other key jurisdictions.
