Boston Multi Family Office to acquire Valla Limited

Boston Multi Family Office has agreed to acquire Valla Limited, the established Jersey-based private client and fiduciary services provider, bringing together two businesses with a shared commitment to personal service, long-term client relationships and high professional standards.

Boston Multi Family Office (“Boston”) has agreed to acquire Valla Limited (“Valla”), the established Jersey-based private client and fiduciary services provider, bringing together two businesses with a shared commitment to personal service, long-term client relationships and high professional standards.

Established in 2011, Valla provides private client, corporate and family office services, together with philanthropy support.  The business has built a strong reputation for the quality of its people, its client relationships and its highly personalised approach.

The acquisition represents an important step in Boston’s continued development in Jersey, bringing together two experienced teams with complementary expertise and strengthening the Group’s ability to support private clients and families with increasingly complex and international requirements.

Boston’s origins can be traced to a single-family office established to look after the affairs of three generations of its founding family.  Since developing into a commercial multi-family office in 2002, Boston has expanded its services and international presence while retaining an emphasis on the personal relationships and individual needs of its clients.

Katherine Ellis, Chief Executive Officer of Boston Multi Family Office, commented:

“We have a great deal of respect for what Valla has built and the quality of the relationships its team has developed over many years.  There is a strong alignment between our businesses, particularly in our approach to clients, our people and the importance we place on delivering a personal service.

“Jersey is an important part of Boston’s long-term strategy, and bringing our teams together provides an excellent opportunity to strengthen our presence on the island.  We are looking forward to welcoming our new colleagues, building on the strengths of both businesses and continuing to invest in the quality of the services we provide.”

Grainne McGinley, Director of Valla, added:

“Throughout this process, our priority has been to find the right home for Valla, its clients and its people.  We have always placed great importance on the relationships we develop and the quality of service we provide, and it was essential to find a business that shares those values.

“We believe Boston provides that cultural fit, alongside the additional expertise and resources that will support the future development of the business.  We are particularly pleased that our clients will continue to be looked after by the people they know and trust, while benefiting from the capabilities of the wider Boston Group.”

Maintaining continuity for clients and staff will be a central priority as the businesses come together.  Valla’s existing team will remain in place, with clients continuing to be supported by their established relationship contacts.

The Jersey Financial Services Commission has issued its no-objection to the proposed acquisition, which is progressing towards completion.
