Please can you give us an overview of your career.
My career started out in 1996 by winning employee of the week whilst working at McDonald’s!
I started out as a trainee auditor in Cape Town South Africa, before visiting friends on the Isle of Man 20 years ago (thinking it was the Isle of Wight) where I have remained since.
Over the past 20 years, I have gained an all-round experience in the CSP industry. I spent 15 years at a large CSP on the IOM, doing a varied role from running a large portfolio, heading up a client accounting team, business development through to an operations role. I then joined Boston 3 and a half years ago starting off as Group Head of Finance, before being appointed Group COO in February 2023.
Where is the most interesting place you have travelled to for work and why?
Without hesitation Zambia. It is the most beautiful undiscovered country on Earth. The people are incredible, and I always look forward to my visits to the country.
What’s the one gadget you couldn’t live without?
My internal defibrillator! Haha!
An Alexa in every room so I can listen to average music.
What’s the best thing about your job?
My job is so broad I never know what I will be doing when I arrive in the office in the morning. Never a dull moment (well maybe sometimes!)
What was the last TV series you watched?
1883 (prequal to Yellow Stone) AMAZING!
Tell us something that might surprise us about you?
I have survived standing on a poisonous snake and being chased by a hippopotamus!
What’s your motto or personal mantra?
We are all in the gutter but some of us are looking at the stars (Oscar Wilde).
What are you most proud of?
My wife Kirsty (for putting up with me) and my kids Holly and Louis.
